The commission is responsible for developing human resource management policies, programs, standards and procedures to help create an engaged, productive and diverse workforce. We oversee collective bargaining and provide advice on employee relations matters.
We also manage employee recruitment and work with other departments to help make the Government of Nova Scotia a preferred employer.

NS Construction Sector Council is a not-for-profit that support the industrial, commercial and institutional (ICI) construction industry in Nova Scotia. We liaise between community and industry to share and promote opportunities in ICI construction and connect people to those opportunities. We have an upcoming free training program for pre-employment on Project Management and Estimating and will be recruiting on behalf of multiple employers for some direct entry opportunities such as labourers, construction craft workers, painters and more. We are also looking for experienced concrete finishers, forepeople and supervisors.
