The Insurance Institute of Canada (IIC) is the premier source of professional education and career development for the country’s property and casualty insurance industry, and its division, Insurance Career Connections is creating pathways to connect suitable job seekers and candidates to employers. One such initiative is their IGNITE Insurance Careers Program.
The program equips newcomers and internationally educated professionals with essential industry skills, helps with integration, and assists with career development through mentorship and networking opportunities with industry employers. Industry employers will benefit from a pool of candidates with insurance fundamentals and recruitment process knowledge. The IGNITE Insurance Careers Program is your pathway to entering the dynamic and rewarding world of Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance. The Calgary pilot is set to run from November 4 – 27, 2024, spanning four weeks. It will cover P&C insurance fundamentals, career education, resume writing, interview preparation, and provide access to mentors and recruiters. This program offers a comprehensive blend of online modules, and in-person sessions designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in the insurance industry.
Whether or not you have insurance experience, this program is geared towards individuals with a curiosity to learn! To be eligible, you must meet the following criteria:
- Internationally trained professionals and newcomers to Canada, currently residing in Calgary, AB
- Legally entitled to work (Permanent Resident or Convention Refugee)
- This program is NOT intended for International Students
- Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 7 or higher recommended
